NFL Mock Draft
Posted in 2008 Season, Deuce McAllister, New Orleans Saints, Reggie Bush, deuceandreggie.com, saints players on 2 January 2009

strong1. Detroit Lions/strongbr /emMatthew Stafford, QB, UGA/embr /Best passer in the draft and the Lions want to erase a lot of memories of last year, especially the one of Dan Orlovsky five yards out of the back of the end zone. br /br /strong2. St. Louis Rams/strongbr /emAndre Smith, OT, Alabama/embr /Smith compares to one of the greatest LTs of all-time, former Ram Orlando Pace br /br /3. strongKansas City/strongbr /emMichael Oher, OT, Mississippi/embr /Other years, Oher would be the consensus #1. Its hard to know where KC will go with this pick, with a new GM and presumably a new coach at the post.br /br /4. strongSeattle Seahawks/strongbr /emMichael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech/embr /Easily the best WR prospect in this year’s draft, and would be the first pick in the draft if the Lions hadn’t always taken recievers with their first pick as of late.br /br /strong5. Cleveland Browns/strongbr /emBrian Orapko, DE, Texas/embr /Browns need a Orapko in this pick, as well as a bailout from the government on offense.br /br /strong6. Cincinatti Bengals/strongbr /emAaron Curry, OLB, Wake Forest/embr /Bengals need help on defense and he will fit right in with the Bengals 3-4.br /br /strong7. Oakland Raiders/strongbr /emJeremy Maclin, WR, Mizzou/embr /Oakland’s recievers are pretty poor, and Maclin is a top talent, albeit, very raw. He could be utilized in many aspects on the field like Reggie Bush.br /br /strong8. Jacksonville Jaguars/strongbr /emEugene Monroe, OT, Virginia/embr /Monroe is the last of the top three in the first tier of offensive lineman. He is strong and very fast for his size. Don’t be suprised if a team like the 49ers make a trade to this spot to help out their wack ass line.br /br /strong9. Green Bay Packers/strongbr /emTaylor Mays, S, USC/embr /Assuming that Mays is coming out (n/h) is the best S prospect on the board. He’s got the prototypical size and physical style of play for a rover.br /br /strong10. San Francisco 49ers/strongbr /emMalcolm Jenkins, CB, OSU/embr /NFL-ready corner who can be expected to start for the 9ers. San Fran needs a lot of help on offense, but the Thorpe-award winner may be too hard to pass up.br /br /strong11. Buffalo Bills/strongbr /emJames Laurinitis, LB, OSU/embr /Back-to-back Buckeyes to be picked will solidify Buffalo’s young and talented mid-level along with PSU’s Paul Posluzny.br /br /strong12. Denver Broncos/strongbr /emRay Maualuga, ILB, USC/embr /Talented LB that is both a great lateral runner and excellent tackler. Also has a tendency to make big plans when the defense needed them. Denver needs a lot of help on defense, and this is the first step.br /strongbr /13. Washington Redskins/strongbr /emVontae Davis, CB, Illinois/embr /The ‘Skins will be hoping that Davis will be the next Darrell Green.br /br /strong14. New Orleans Saints/strongbr /emAlphonso Smith, CB, Wake Forest/embr /The Saints really need help in the secondary, and look for them to trade down to get either Jenkins or Davis. If not, Smith or D.J. Moore could be headed to Mardi Gras.br /br /strong15. Houston Texans/strongbr /emDuke Robinson, G, Oklahoma/embr /The best lineman on the best line in America. Will open up holes for the running game of Steve Slaton Co.br /br /strong16. San Diego Chargers/strongbr /emGeorge Selvie, DE, USF/embr /His stock really fell this year, but he is a workout freak and will improve his status at the combine, assuming he comes out.br /br /strong17. New York Jets/strongbr /emBrandon Spikes, LB, Florida/embr /Similar player to Maualuga in that he has a definite nose for the football, and plays at full spead either running along with or toward the line of scrimmage.br /strongbr /18. Chicago Bears/strongbr /emEverett Brown, DE, FSU/embr /Raw pass rusher who has excellent size and strength. If Chicago doesn’t go defense here, they may go for QBs Sam Bradford or Mark Sanchez.br /br /strong19. Tampa Bay Bucs/strongbr /emShonn Greene, RB, Iowa/embr /Speedy back who can also pass block better than any other back to be picked in the first round.br /br /strong20. Detroit Lions/strongbr /emTerence Cody, DT, Alabama/embr /Huge DT who can disrupt anyone trying to run up the middle.br /br /strong21. Arizona Cardinals/strongbr /emBrian Cushing, LB, USC/embr /The “other” Trojan linebacker who may not have the elite speed that makes NFL scouts salivate, but his instinctual play on recognizing run vs pass help him make a good late pick in the draft.br /br /strong22. Philadelphia Eagles/strongbr /emDarius Hayward-Bey, WR, Maryland/embr /Big reciver who lacks in speed, but makes up for it with excellent hands and big-play tendencies…something the Eagles desperatly need.br /br /strong23. Minnessota Vikings/strongbr /emEben Britton, OT, Mizzou/embr /Britton will fit well on the right side of the line, where he dominated during his time at Mizzou.br /br /strong24. New England Patriots/strongbr /emSen’Derrick Marks, DT Auburn/embr /Pats need help in the secondary which they could address in FA or later in the draft. br /br /strong25. Atlanta Falcons/strongbr /emMacho Harris, CB, Virginia Tech/embr /br /strong26. Miami Dolphins/strongbr /emAlex Mack, C, Cal-Berkley/embr /br /strong27. Baltimore Ravens/strongbr /emPercy Harvin, WR, Florida/embr /br /strong28. Indianapolis Colts/strongbr /emGreg Hardy, DE, Mississippi/embr /br /strong29. Philadelphia Eagles/strongbr /emChris Wells, RB, OSU/embr /br /strong30. Pittsburgh Steelers/strongbr /emChase Coffman, TE, Mizzou/embr /br /strong31. New York Giants/strongbr /emRashad Johnson, S, Alabama/embr /strongbr /32. Tennessee Titans/strongbr /emHakeem Nicks, WR, UNC/embr /br /br /*note: the last few picks are determined after the playoffs and I got lazy and didn’t do a lot of analyzing. sorry.

Reggie Bush and Kim Kardashian were in Las Vegas to spend New Year’s 2009 together. We didn’t see a ring, so I guess Reggie didn’t listen to Beyonce to “put a ring on it” and pop the question over the Holidays.
