Seahawks Week 11 Preview: Hawks Vs. Cardinals
div align=”left”This is the most important game on the schedule. This game will determine the rest of our season. Whether we pack up and play for next year or try for the span class=”blsp-spelling-corrected” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_0″unlikely/span playoff spot depends on this game. No matter what, it’s still a point of pride to never lose to the Cardinals regardless of how the rest of the season goes. On to the preview./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”When the Hawks have the ball/divdiv align=”left”For the first time, the Hawks have their starting quarterback (hopefully) healthy, and they chose a pretty good game to return. Arizona’s pass defense is below average and if span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_1″Hass/span is healthy, he will have a good span class=”blsp-spelling-corrected” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_2″opportunity/span to show it. The defense is overall about average, so the Hawks should be able to score some points, especially if we can get the passing game to work well enough to get the running game going./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”When the Cards have the ball./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”Last year, the span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_3″Seahawks/span battered Kurt Warner at Quest with 5 sacks, 3 by Patrick span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_4″Kerney/span. Warner felt the pressure all game and threw 5 interceptions, including a pick-six to span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_5″Trufant/span. If the span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_6″Seahawks/span are going to win this game they need to have another performance like this. The Arizona Cardinals have the #1 offense in the NFL, and amazingly, nearly all of it comes from their passing game (their running game is mediocre at best, especially when span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_7″Edggerin/span James is getting carries) led by the same Kurt Warner. Our secondary has obviously played a lot worse this year, but we can still give Warner that kind of pressure. The man who allowed 3 sacks that day still starts at right tackle and is the weakest link in that offensive line-Former top 5 pick Levi Brown. Brown is span class=”blsp-spelling-corrected” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_8″absolutely/span terrible at pass protection and has allowed at least half of the Cardinals’ sacks. span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_9″Tapp/span is no Patrick span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_10″Kerney/span, but his pass rush is a huge strength and something largely span class=”blsp-spelling-corrected” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_12″under appreciated/span by the press, the fans, and oddly, the team itself. This is a span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_13″matchup/span the span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_14″Seahawks/span should be expected to win, and really, they can’t win the game without winning this span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_15″matchup/span. Keep an eye on it./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”Picks/divdiv align=”left”span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_16″ATL/span over DEN, Matt Ryan is the best rookie we will see in the league for a while./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”PHI over span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_17″CIN/span, Honestly, Philly is too good to lose to a team like span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_18″Cincy/span, right?/divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”GB over CHI, and if I ever hear how the Packers’ mediocre year was the result of Brett span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_19″Favre/span leaving I will not show restraint in my response. according to Football Outsiders quarterback span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_20″DVOA/span rankings (for an explanation, go to span class=”blsp-spelling-corrected” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_21″their/span website). Aaron Rodgers ranks 12span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_22″th/span, just behind span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_23″Romo/span and ahead of Garrard. span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_24″Favre/span ranks 22span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_25″nd/span, just behind Joe span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_26″Flacco/span and just ahead of our own Seneca Wallace. Yes, Seneca Wallace has been almost as good as span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_27″Favre/span this year. No matter how much you think leadership counts in football, you can’t rationally put the span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_28″Packers’s/span woes on that decision./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”IND over span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_29″HOU/span, and does anybody else think it’s weird that we might see a Manning-less, Brady-less span class=”blsp-spelling-corrected” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_30″postseason/span and nobody is saying anything about it? Weird./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”NO over KC, Can we please stop the misconception that Reggie Bush is a good rusher? Again this span class=”blsp-spelling-corrected” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_31″season/span, like the last, he ranks among the worst in the league. He’s fantastic at span class=”blsp-spelling-corrected” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_32″receiving/span, but that’s not the type of guy you want with a #2 pick./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”MIA over OAK, and what of course is the most interesting thing about the span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_33″Favre/span saga is that the odd man out, Pennington, has done better than span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_34″Favre/span or Rodgers./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_35″NYG/span over span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_36″BAL/span, but it’s going to be very, very close. I think that We’ll see Eli become a mortal in this game./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”TB over MIN, because its in Tampa Bay. I would have put it the other way in the Dome./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”CAR over span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_37″DET/span, because I’m never making the mistake of picking Detroit ever again./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_38″STL/span over SF, because one of these teams has to suck less. Or at least get lucky./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”PIT over SD, because one of the least reported stories of the season is that LT is having by far the worst season of his entire career. And it’s not all the O-Line’s fault. Such is the way of the 29 year old running back./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”TEN over span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_39″JAX/span, because Tennessee is having the season I thought Seattle would have. Not span class=”blsp-spelling-corrected” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_40″necessarily/span 9-0, but an elite defense matched up with a slightly above average offense turning into wins./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”WAS over DAL, because Jason Campbell is becoming the best case scenario for Redskins fans. Also, Jim Mora, while responsible for that success, was never a consideration for the span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_41″Hawks’s/span job because of his lack of experience, a perfectly valid concern. The Redskins lucked out. It happens./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_42″CLE/span over span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_43″BUF/span, because when I see Buffalo right now, I see below average offense with a below average defense. Why are they winning games again? They have a top 5 span class=”blsp-spelling-corrected” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_44″special/span teams, which counts for something, but Cleveland has a top 1 special teams. /divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left”SEA over ARI, 34-28, because I think that Darryl span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_45″Tapp/span is going to have one of those breakout games and really put some pressure on Warner, who is the exact prototype of the slow, span class=”blsp-spelling-corrected” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_46″immobile/span quarterback that the span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_47″Seahawks/span defense was designed to pulverize. For the record, this is my upset of the week. Don’t screw this up, Brian Russell./divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left” /divdiv align=”left” /divcenter /centercenterYou can get all our articles for free in your inbox with the latest Seattle Sports’ news.br /Just enter your email below:/centerbr /centerform action=”http://www.feedblitz.com/feedblitz.exe?BurnUser” method=”post”p id=”poweredByFeedBlitz”input id=”email” maxlength=”255″ size=”26″ name=”email”br /input type=”hidden” value=”http://feeds.feedburner.com/SeatownSports” name=”uri” input type=”submit” value=”Subscribe me!”br /p id=”poweredByFeedBlitz” style=”FONT-STYLE: italic”Powered by a href=”http://www.feedblitz.com/”span class=”blsp-spelling-error” id=”SPELLING_ERROR_48″FeedBlitz/span/a/form/center/p
