Running Game Cripples Saints in Loss to Broncos
Don’t fault Grammatica. The New Orleans Saints have been experiencing the same problems early this season, poor defensive back play and lack of pressure upfront, but the running game crashed the Saints hopes to win against the Broncos. Give the Broncos defense credit, they stopped the Saints on the 1 yard line three times and halted Pierre Thomas on a crucial 3rd and 1. The question for Coach Payton is why didn’t he put Reggie in the game when he definitely gave the Saints energy and momentum. Both series, Payton called Thomas’ number and the offensive line allowed penetration from Denver.
This is definitely a hard loss, but it gives question to why activate Deuce and not have him to punch the ball into the end zone or get the first down. It’s time for the Saints to dial up a different scheme for short yardage situations the next 13 games.
Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, Mike Mackenzie, Devery Henderson, and Stincomb deserve honorable mention for their performances.

reggie played a heck of a game. they definitely should put deuce in the game. reggie and deuce together could have finished the game. coach is definitely the reason we lost this one. thanks a lot sean payton you screwed this one again…….reggie and deuce…..
