Ellis will join Saints on Wednesday

The Saints will officially get their first-round draft pick Sedrick Ellis to join them in training camp after agreeing to a five-year contract Tuesday evening.  Ellis is expected to be in attendance for the afternoon practice on Wednesday before immersing into the full routine on Thursday, according to Saints spokesman Greg Bensel.

Coach Payton will be comforted with Ellis’ presence, thus allowing the Saints’ defense to be at full strength since Ellis has already missed 12 practices with his lengthy holdout.  The coaches concede that Ellis’ participation in the OTA’s and Minicamps won’t have him to far removed from comprehending the Saints’ defensive scheme.
